HOME MADE DOG FOOD 8 quart crock pot needed
5-5.5 lbs of meat. I used a combination of:
4 cups of water 3-4 cups of kale and spinach (I use frozen) 1-12 oz bag of frozen string beans 1-12 oz bag of mixed vegetables 2 sweet potatoes (diced) 4 large chopped carrots 1 can of drained and rinsed kidney beans 1 can of drained and rinsed black beans 2 TBS Turmeric 1 tsp Salt 1 tsp Ground Mustard 3 TBS Bone Meal (any brand) I start by oiling the entire inside of the crock pot (especially the bottom) with olive oil to prevent sticking. I then put all of the ingredients in the crock pot in layers. I layer in this order: Water, rice, bone meal, turmeric, mustard, stir, then add (chopped carrots and sweet potatoes because they are going to take the longest to cook), then add kale and spinach, ground beef, black beans, ground turkey, kidney beans, mixed vegetables, ground chick/chicken thighs, green beans. I ad enough water to just below covering the top layer. Set on high heat for one (1) hour, reduce heat to low and cook over night. Make sure to mix it well when it is done so that the spices on the bottom are well blended. I transfer manageable amounts into a large bowl to breakup the meat and evenly distribute. Add in's per serving: 1 Sardine, Ultra oil or 1/2 tsp Ground Flax Seed 1 tsp coconut oil 1 multivitamin |
